Interested in Leading a Life Group?
It's easy to think you're not qualified - but you are! You don't have to have it all together to lead a Life Group. God has given you exactly what you need to lead. Are you ready to rise to the occasion?
Frequently Asked Questions
Ask God for direction about what group to lead and what type it should be. Then be sure to register your group for that semester online, when it is available. Be sure you complete the steps it takes to become a leader:
- Apply to be a Leader
- Attend In-Person Training
- Register your Life Group
A personal invitation is the best way to bring people into your group. Social media is another great way to spread the word.
Start with the people already around you like your neighbor, people you meet around town, coworkers, etc. However, don’t stop there! Find people around you who are new to the church, new believers, or have shown interest in getting involved! Look for people you think you can help realize their potential. Keep in mind, group members don’t have to attend The Life Church.
As a pray first church, ask God to send the right people to your group before every Life Group Fair!
We encourage Life Groups to meet outside the church building in the places where you like to spend your time. Some of the most common meet places are coffee shops, parks, homes, and restaurants.
We encourage meeting weekly each semester in order to build the relationships but most groups do meet biweekly or bimonthly. Each group MUST meet at least twice each semester.
Reporting isn’t numbers; it’s stewardship. It helps us track the engagement level of each person in your group. If someone misses a few group meetings, a need may have arisen in their life. The Life Group coaches take note of that. Community is the first step toward healing and growth, and we want everyone to feel connected and supported.
Any Christian-based small group study is acceptable. Explore the Youversion Bible App, pentecostalpublishing.com, other christian websites, or local christian bookstores on what would be good options. Remember, the goal for your group is to create a safe, welcoming place for people to grow together, no matter the curriculum or activity.
It’s okay to not have all the answers. Thankfully we can find guidance through prayer, God’s Word and the Holy Spirit. Encourage them to spend time reading the Bible and praying. Also, let them know that you will do your best to get some information and get back with them. Conduct some personal research and contact your Life Group coach for assistance if/when needed.
If you encounter a difficult situation within your Life Group, please know that you are not alone. If a member is going through a crisis, you can rally the group around them to provide prayer, encouragement, and support. Use wisdom and be sensitive to the situation. If you are unsure of what to do, don’t hesitate to notify us:
